Line Marking:
Based on the floor's design elevation datum line, measure vertically up the wall to the ceiling's design elevation. Along the wall, snap vertical lines marking the elevation limits for the glass partition, as well as horizontal lines for the top and bottom tracks (studs). Additionally, mark the specific spacing positions for the vertical studs along the horizontal lines of the top and bottom tracks.
Installation of Main Framing Components:
Bottom Track Installation:
Secure the bottom track (floor stud) according to design specifications. If no specific design requirements are provided, use Ø8–Ø12 expansion bolts or 3–5-inch nails for fastening; the spacing between fastening points for expansion bolts should be 600–800 mm. Apply anti-corrosion treatment to the track prior to installation.
Perimeter Stud Installation:
Secure the perimeter studs (wall-side studs) according to design specifications. These perimeter studs should feature a grooved profile to serve as a plaster termination edge. If no specific design requirements are provided, fasten them using Ø8–Ø12 expansion bolts or 3–5-inch nails anchored into pre-embedded wooden blocks; the spacing between fastening points should be 800–1000 mm. Apply anti-corrosion treatment to the studs prior to installation.
Main Stud Installation:
Secure the main vertical studs according to design specifications, aligning them with the previously marked spacing lines. Fasten them using 4-inch iron nails; each end of a stud must be secured with no fewer than three nails. Ensure that all studs are installed firmly and securely.
Intermediate Stud Installation:
Secure the intermediate vertical studs according to design specifications, aligning them with the marked spacing lines. Fasten them using mortise-and-tenon joints or nails. Ensure that all studs are installed firmly and securely. Prior to installing the intermediate studs, grooves for receiving the glass panels may be cut into the studs, sized to match the specific dimensions of the glass being installed.
Glass Installation:
Install the glass panels onto the intermediate studs according to design specifications and the specific dimensions of the glass. If using glazing beads for installation, first secure the bead on one side of the glass, place a rubber spacer pad beneath the glass to support it, and then use the remaining beads to firmly secure the glass in place. If using structural silicone sealant to directly secure the glass, first seat the glass panel into the pre-cut grooves within the intermediate studs, and then apply the silicone sealant to seal and secure the glass.
Silicone Application:
First, apply masking tape along the perimeter edges of the glass panels. Then, according to design specifications, apply the appropriate type of silicone sealant evenly into the gaps between the glass and the intermediate studs. Once the silicone sealant has fully cured, carefully remove the masking tape.
Glazing Bead Installation:
Install the glazing beads-available in various dimensions and materials-according to design specifications. Secure the beads to the intermediate studs using finish nails (pin nails) or structural silicone sealant. Unless otherwise specified in the design, 10×12 mm wooden battens, 10×10 mm aluminum battens, or 10×20 mm stainless steel battens may be selected as required.
